There will be a great Traditional Music weekend on in The Anglers Return on Saturday and Sunday, 20th-21st October with COncerts, Sessions and workshops. Sophie and I have been asked to perform for the Race Festival for The Volvo Ocean Race finish in Galway this Tuesday, July 3rd. We will be playing on the main stage in the Global village at 1pm. As an Avid fan of sailing myself I am delighted to be involved. This is one of the biggest Sailing events in the world and Galway city were made the finishing port after a great festival as a stopover port in the 2009-2010 race.10 jan '12

Each year we try to go to at least one unusual place of the track while touring, this year we have been lucky to visit many new and exotic countries, and December caps it all with our first trip in the middle east for tje Jacobs Ladder Festival in Israel. We can't wait!

Tomorrow we will be in Belgium to start our mini tour with a perfromance at the Acoustic Picnic Festival in Namur. the trip will finish at Festival Folk musique et traditions in Marsinnes

We had a wonderful time in Spain and the crew at the festival took great care of us with time to see the beautiful Asturias region between show's. Now it's back to Quebec for a 4 weekend tour of festivals

Thanks to Galway County council who have just awarded a grant in order to set up our new trio to cater for some of our festival requests. The grant will help to set up a wesite for the trio. Details will be posted as things progress

We are all ready for the Astralasia tour, with 19 concerts between 16May and 18th of June in Both NewZealand and Australia. Thanks again to Culture Ireland for there support in the tour

Sophie & Fiachra have just been awarded a Culture Ireland grant for their scheduled performances at Ceol Aneas (NZ) and the National Celtic Festival (AUS) as part of their May-June Oceana tour. Sophie & Fiachra are extremely grateful to Culture Ireland for helping to make the tour possible.

Our Album has been completed and will be launched by Marie Walsh, on Wednesday, 16th June at 8;30. The event will take place in the Alcock & Browne Hotel, Clifden, Co Galway, featuring a concert of ourselves and friends. A night of music, song, dance with plenty of wine and finger food. Admission is free.

Last weekend we played at Féile Cois Cuain in Louisburg and Féile comortha Joe Einiu in Carna. Both were great festivals and we're looking forward to the next editions. Watch this space for Launch dates of Sophie & Fiachra's new album soon.

Sophie & Fiachra have just returned from Festival les Anthinoises in Wallonie, Belgium. 15,000 or so spectators came to this great festival. Thanks so much to the organisers for taking great care of the band. Next Stop Féile comortha Joe Einiu and Féile cois Cuain!
